Apprenticeships: engineering matters

This is really so easy it’s almost silly, but it’s made up of some pretty great ingredients so the end result is, well, great!

One tiny weed can have root systems that go on forever. It’s pretty fascinating actually.. We have these little white flowered weeds growing in last year’s soy bean field next to our property so I had to grab some and see how they would do in the house.. Look at those cute little heart-shaped leaves!.

I picked two bouquets: One large and this smaller one..This is what happened to the table under the smaller one, so you can image under the larger bouquet.Best to stick to just a few sprigs of this one, I think..

These certainly aren’t the flowers for a big fancy shmancy table setting. If you have an old farmhouse in slight disrepair like mine though, they’re free, and sometimes they’re just the right thing!.

Do you ever find random weed flowers and use them inside?Today’s idea is a quick and simple one, and I like that, so I thought you might too.. I’ve been meaning to do this for a month or two, ever since I saw some different topiary shapes they were selling in the Pottery Barn catalogue..

I picked myself up a little $1.97 ivy from Walmart and 5.8 seconds later, I had this..It probably took a good 5 months for us to get that part of the room done, but I’m so glad we did it.

It adds so much character to the room.. We actually still haven’t even touched the inside of the closet. It’s big and spacious, but it’s still filled with a lot of my junk and some lovely bright green shag carpet on the floor.

We’ll get to that eventually! We want to cut out a bigger hole and add a real door there, but that’s going to be a big project again.
